Shutters are ideal for bedrooms as they provide a flexible seasonal solution. By tilting the louvres you can find the perfect balance between light and privacy control, so whether you want a bright space to get ready, or a cosy atmosphere for sleep you get the best of both worlds while maintaining your privacy. Closed shutters will help keep your room cool during the hotter months and provide an extra insulating layer in winter for a snug, warm feel. Shutters can also help reduce noise for a great night's sleep.
Yes, shutters are an excellent way to insulate your bedroom and improve the energy efficiency of your home. They fit snugly at your window, helping to reduce draughts that can slip through the gaps in your frames by providing a barrier at your window that keeps the cold out and the warmth in. We worked with the experts at Salford University to understand how our products can help prevent heat loss. The results from their specially created lab, the 'Energy House' showed that our shutters reduce heat loss by 36%. In the months of summer, shutters are great for keeping rooms cool too. Tilt the louvres closed when the sun is at its hottest to keep your space at a comfortable temperature.
