All the feels
Velvet is up there with some of the cosiest of fabrics, making it a great choice for your windows. The thick, heavy nature of this luxurious material not only blocks out light but makes it perfect for insulation too."

I’m delighted with my new living room curtains. The Darcia Emerald velvet fabric has made a huge difference not only in keeping out the cold but the noise from the street outside too!

Pinks and greens and creams, Oh My!
We love the combination of pinks, creams and greens found in this room. All fabrics in the Hillarys x Poodle & Blonde collection are available as cushions, and they are specifically designed to complement each other to allow you to mix and match your favourite prints.

Layering your window dressings is a great way to get flexible control over light and privacy. Sarah chose Café-style shutters to provide privacy from the busy Dublin city centre location of her home, paired with sheer Roller blinds to diffuse the light at different times of day. Electric Roman blinds soften the look and are a really handy way to control multiple blinds at once, especially when they're out of reach.

        Spring layers
We all know how unpredictable British weather can be, so for flexible light control throughout the seasons, think about teaming sheer Voiles with curtains. In summer, the Voiles allow light to gently filter through your window while maintaining daytime privacy. In the evening and during cooler months, your curtains will add an extra layer of cosiness.

        Relaxing greens
There’s always a feel of a connection to nature when you bring green into your home and these curtains in Spritz Elm are no different. A calming shade of green for a dreamy look, they are perfect for this little Eden with plenty of plants and natural textures creating a soothing environment. For this type of relaxed feel, we’ve chosen a casual pencil pleat header for our curtains.

        Patterned eyelets
Modern and contemporary eyelet curtains like these will make a dramatic feature of your window thanks to the deep folds of fabric, which run in uniform lines from top to bottom. Eyelet curtains always hang from a curtain pole, which is threaded through metal rings, providing minimalist and contemporary looks.

        Comforting neutrals
There’s something comfortingly rugged about these curtains in Boheme Hemp. In this bedroom they help to create a neutral setting, balancing out the creamy tones and playing up to the texture. Combine with heavy fabrics, like coir, sisal, hessian, from floor coverings to plant pots to compete the naturally cosy look.

"Bay windows can be tricky to dress, but I'll do all the measuring and fitting for you to take the stress away. I'd recommend a curtain track for this window type - they easily bend around curves and corners giving a really smooth finish."

        Hayley's curtains
“My living room has always been a dilemma due to its large old sliding doors. As it’s south facing, in the summer the heat and sunlight can be intense. Equally, in the winter the old doors and windows can be so draughty and inefficient. I decided to have thick lined curtains installed to help tackle the drafts in the colder months and add some cosiness to the room. I opted for a blackout lining to help shield from the sun during the height of summer.”

        Doubled up delight
"Our living room bi folds look out onto a very sunny south-facing garden, so the room is filled with lots of light. I wanted window treatments that allowed the light to come in, but didn’t detract from my decor style. I knew I didn’t want blinds. I really love voile panels, but also want to be able to keep in the warmth during winter months."

        Lavender living
Curtains are a great choice for most door types, including traditional patio, French and metal-framed doors. Heat escapes from many homes via doors, so drawing curtains over these areas will help prevent any draughts.

Corduroy has made a welcome return to the catwalk that is settling back in to our homes. Its soft structure means the fabric is well-suited for blinds and curtains, with its characteristic vertical furrows making the material particularly exciting.
