1. Add a warm welcome

Your living room is the place you go to sit, relax and socialise, so it’s important that it feels warm and welcoming. Roman blinds are a great choice for living rooms, as they are available in a broad range of fabrics, textures and designs to suit every style of décor. They can be teamed with curtains for a layered look and come with optional thermal linings for a warmer feel.

2. A touch of contemporary flair

There was a time when the options for Venetian blinds were pretty limited. But no more. A Venetian blind is a fantastic choice for a contemporary living room where you want a sleek and glossy finish. Choose a vibrant colour to add an edge to a neutral scheme, or go for a pearlised finish for a softer, romantic look.

In this living room we've chosen Studio Harvest metal Venetian in light brown, with hints of grey, to create a wholesome and soft colourway. The gloss finish reflects light to create a lovely ambient golden glow.

3. Maintain your privacy

For large windows, bay windows and doors, a Vertical blind is an excellent option. It allows you to effectively control the light while maintaining your privacy, which is important if your living room is overlooked. We have lots of contemporary designs and prints to help you create the look you want. Vertical blinds can be made to neatly follow the curve of a bay window and are available in a range of performance blackout fabrics.

4. Be Pleat and tidy

Consider a Pleated blind for a neat and tidy finish and softness at your window. It will filter the light beautifully, swathing your living room in a warm glow.

Our Thermashade™ Pleated blinds have innovative honeycomb cells which create an insulating layer at your window. These help keep your living room at a more comfortable temperature all year round. They're a practical solution, available in a wide range of colours and styles.

5. Let there be light

A Roller blind looks pristine at the window, sitting neatly within the recess and allowing sunlight to flood into your living room. Choose from a range of fabulous fabrics and textures, including blackout fabrics for added light control. Roller blinds are also easy to make your own. Choose a shaped hem for a softer look and include poles and finials for a café style feel.
